Oriflame Cosmetics was founded in Sweden in 1967, and has thus accumulated 36 years experience in the world of cosmetics. Oriflame provides some 500 products in the field of skincare, make-up, fragrances and toiletries through direct sales. This means that products are sold by independent sales people, away from retail chains.
Oriflame has approximately 3.800 employees and more than 1.3 million distributors known as Sales Consultants operating in over 50 markets worldwide. Oriflame also owns ACO Hud, a leading Swedish skincare brand. ACO Hud products are distributed exclusively through state pharmacies.
Strong entrepreneurial spirit
However large, the company has never lost sight of its original concept: quality products made of natural ingredients, a flat organisational structure, and a strong entrepreneurial spirit. Oriflame is still mainly owned by the founders Jonas and Robert af Jochnick, together with the investment company Industri Kapital. Yearly turnover is around 540 million Euros.
Oriflame delivers its message in a limited way through the media. Instead brand values are communicated through the product catalogues. This makes catalogue production crucial to the company. Major investments have been in this area and the catalogue development process is highly advanced. In total, over 60 million catalogues are produced yearly in 34 different languages with prices in 43 currencies.
Oriflame is headquartered in Luxembourg. The company's global product development centre is located in Dublin, while the catalogue production centre is in Malmö, Sweden. Oriflame products are manufactured at plants in Warsaw and New Delhi.
